Clubs & Activities
Learning at home doesn’t mean learning alone. Every week our students gather online to read, write, sew, pray, compete and create together — all included with enrolment.
What’s on this year
Clubs run online over Zoom and are open to every ASCEND student at no extra cost. Times are set each term — current families can find the full schedule, joining links and staff contacts on the ASCEND Families site.
I CAN Workshops
Kindergarten – Grade 7
Short, focused small-group sessions across the week — I Can Read, I Can Write, I Can Practice Math and I Can Spell — for children building core skills.
For the Love of Shakespeare
Grades 5 – 12
Thursday afternoon read-alouds and discussion, working through the plays together, out loud, as a group.
Storytime
Kindergarten – Grade 3
A gentle Wednesday afternoon read-aloud for our youngest learners, and a chance to see friendly faces mid-week.
Eco Kids
Grades 2 – 5 and up
Every second Monday, exploring care for creation through hands-on environmental projects and conversation.
Simple Sewing Projects
Grades 4 – 12
Wednesday morning sewing sessions, from first stitches to finished projects. Students need access to a sewing machine.
Open Parachute
Kindergarten – Grade 12
A mental-health and wellbeing programme that families can work through together at home or alongside a group.
Mission Possible — Youth Group & Prayer
Grades 8 – 12
Thursday afternoon youth group and prayer for high school students: faith, friendship and honest conversation.
Quest Programs
Grades 2 – 12
Gamified learning adventures — Pilgrim’s Quest, Saint’s Quest and Math Quest — that turn practice into a story worth finishing.
E-sports
Grades 9 – 12
Team-based competitive gaming with weekly practice and matches, and the teamwork and good sportsmanship that go with it.
