Registered Homeschooling?
K–9 at ASCEND is enrolled, teacher-led online learning: a BC certified teacher plans, delivers and assesses your child’s program, which follows the BC curriculum. In Kindergarten to Grade 9, a child cannot be both enrolled and a registered homeschooler.
If you would like to simply register your child as an independent homeschooler, as discussed in Sections 12 – 14 of the BC School Act, you may also do that through ASCEND. Registered homeschooling is parent-led: it places full responsibility for the educational program on the parent, is not supervised by a BC certified teacher, and is not required to follow the BC curriculum.
